In January 2024 I left my safe, FT, corporate IT Asset Management job to pursue a career in Voice Acting, podcasting, and writing; aiming to combine a compulsion for storytelling and creativity with an academic background in philosophy and the arts, as well as broad work experience in restaurant, retail, sales, corporate, and gig work.
Michael offers a rich, warm, timbre with a bit of texture. Articulate, with an approachable confidence and textured gravitas - more storyteller than announcer.
Michael excels in layering sincerity, authority, wit, and nostalgia in commercial reads, as well as explainer and narration. He is comfortable in a timbre/texture age range anywhere from 30s to 70s. My natural accent is general American. Originally from Long Island, New York, Michael has lived his adult life in Charlotte, North Carolina, and can add a Northeastern or Southeastern US flavor with ease. Comfortable voicing narration for your C-Suite or your trucking fleet.
Michael is also a podcast host and producer, has a home studio with Rode NT1 mic, Gen. 4 Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 audio interface, and can provide finished, edited, high quality audio, typically within 24 hours. He operates out of Charlotte, North Carolina.
Prior to Voiceover, Michael worked for about 10 years in corporate IT Asset Management for a Fortune 500 company, communicating with VPs and Legal, as well as Sales Managers and Field Service Techs. Prior to that, he had worked in Restaurant and Retail, from management, to sales, to bartending.
He holds a Master's in Ethics and Applied Philosophy from UNC Charlotte, and graduated Summa Cum Laude with Departmental Honors in Art History, also from UNCC. He was a faculty Teaching Assistant as both Graduate and Undergraduate, for Philosophy and Art History.
Gear: Rode NT1 mic, Gen. 4 Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 audio interface, acoustically treated and networked studio space with run-silent mini PC and gigabit fiber connection for live direction.
